Dingle & the Slea Head Drive

Dingle & the Slea Head Drive

The Dingle Peninsula is a place where Ireland’s wild beauty and living tradition come together. Along the famous Slea Head Drive, sweeping Atlantic views reveal cliffs, golden beaches, and the distant Blasket Islands, while inland the landscape shifts to mountain passes and lush valleys. This region is rich in heritage, with ancient sites like the Gallarus Oratory, Beehive Huts, and Iron Age forts standing as timeless witnesses to Ireland’s past. In Dingle town, colorful shopfronts, seafood restaurants, and lively pubs create a welcoming atmosphere, alive with traditional music and Irish culture. For queer travelers, the peninsula offers both freedom in its vast horizons and connection in its inclusive, creative community–making it a highlight of the Wild Atlantic Way.

Blarney Castle

Blarney Castle

Climb the medieval tower, kiss the legendary stone, gain the gift of the gab, and wander through enchanting gardens filled with druidic stones, wishing steps, hidden waterfalls, and medicinal plants. An afternoon spent at Blarney Castle will have you feeling the magic of Ireland–folklore of witches and fairies and ancient trees that cover the property adding to the mystical atmosphere. Doolin & Doolin Cave

Doolin & Doolin Cave

Doolin, a quaint coastal town known for its community spirit, beautiful landscape, and for being a hub for traditional Irish Music, sometimes known as “the New Orleans of the Irish music scene”. Doolin Cave: Deep beneath the limestone landscape of the Burren in County Clare lies Doolin Cave, home to one of the world’s longest free-hanging stalactites. Descending into the cavern feels like stepping into another realm–cool air, echoing chambers, and the awe of seeing a single stalactite stretching nearly 24 feet overhead. It is a natural marvel formed over thousands of years, a reminder of the magic of the earth itself.

Cliffs of Moher

Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher rise dramatically from the Atlantic, reaching heights of over 700 feet. From the summit, the ocean roars below while seabirds fly above, creating one of Ireland’s most unforgettable panoramic views. On clear days, you can see across to the Aran Islands and even the mountains of Connemara. The cliffs are not just a natural wonder, they’re steeped in folklore, with tales of lost lovers, mythical sea creatures, and heroic battles echoing through the stone and the sound of a lone whistle on the wind.
